How did this margarita thing get started anyway?

Roughly 220 years ago, a wise Mexican philanthropist named Julio Vasquez de Mario decided that tequila and lime juice could be brought together for the sake of spreading happiness. Relatively little is known about his personal life, but today is his birthday. That is why February 22 is known as National Margarita Day.

Interesting story, right?

Nah not really.

You can't believe EVERYTHING you read on the Internet.

Who knows what this stuff is really about? Who cares? Who wants a margarita right now? Who HAS a margarita right now?
(That's a serious question if anyone is willing to share)

All we know here at Tea Time 24/7 is that a good margarita should never go unappreciated.

What is the big deal with wine, anyway?

Your guess is as good as ours.
Apparently it's one of those things that most sane people enjoy ... and maybe some insane people as well. Truth be told, wine may be the barrier that keeps some from diving head first into insanity.

Doctors say a certain amount (a glass and a half?) per day is good for you, but too much is bad for you. Women seem to love it, so men should at least know a little bit about it in order to relate, right?

Even the Bible has some interesting things to say about it:

Psalm 104:14, 15 - It's a gift from the Creator himself.

Ecclesiastes 9:7 - Drinking wine is listed with eating in the context of rejoicing.

1 Timothy 5:23 - An older man advises a younger man to drink wine instead of water (possibly because of the lack of clean water in his area at the time) for health benefits.

There's way more in the Bible about wine (some good, some bad), but you didn't click on the link to get preached to, did you?

Do you prefer red or white?
Do you prefer one glass at a time or can you knock off a whole bottle (or BOTTLES) by yourself?
Are you the fancy type that pairs certain wines with certain dishes, or do you just drink the grape juice strictly for the sake of drinking the grape juice?

The Last Day of the Week

What's the cure for a weak weekend?

That's hard to say. What works for some may not work for others. What's the ideal way for you to spend YOUR Saturdays?

Not being at work is a good start.
Hanging with friends and family works.
Going out somewhere fun or relaxing at home is great.

If you've ever attended a college party, you've probably seen an ABUNDANCE of plastic red cups in rotation.

Whatever goes in the cup during the party is up to you. (Hopefully you're a cautious partygoer and you keep an eye on your cup at all times.)

Similar to #StyrofoamSundays, we've expanded the cyber party atmosphere based on the use of another infamous cup. That being the case, we'd like for everyone to enjoy #SoloCupSaturdays on the usual social media platforms (FB/Twitter/IG) so we can all share in the merrymaking. Post a pic from the party!
